Growing

Incredible Surplus have three allotment sites in Birmingham that use organic principles, no-dig methods and plenty of homemade compost. The sites are co-ordinated by Liz & Chris from General Public, supported by Marley, Jimoh & the brilliant Incredible Surplus volunteers. At the Incredible Surplus growing sites a harvest is made every week with the delicious fresh fruit and vegetables being distributed at The Sharehouse on a pay-as-you-feel-basis. To get involved, please visit the Get Involved / Public Programme page for more information.

All of our other project sites grow fruit, vegetables and plants in the compost that we make. If you visit Crick Gardens in Handsworth they grow an abundance of herbs and plants that they distribute to the local community whilst at Balsall Heath city farm they are growing a fantastic array of vegetables in their raised beds that they use onsite in the children’s centre kitchens.
